10 May 1972 was one of the biggest MIG-killing days of the Vietnam War. Lt Curt Dose and LCDR James McDevitt, in "Silver Kite 211" engaged in a low-level chase of a MIG-21, which culminated in an AIM-9 shoot-down at 50' AGL.
